Minnesota Officials Worried About 'Raucous Fans' At DOKKEN Concert
May 18, 2010Katy Zillmer of Minnesota's OakdaleLakeElmoReview.com reports: An advertised "Bikerfest," headlined June 19 by the '80s heavy-metal band DOKKEN, already has the Oakdale City Council members and police department fretting about crowd control, noise and raucous fans.
For Oakdale officials, alarm bells went up when they realized DOKKEN's performance at the tent party was being advertised as a "Bikerfest" on its online calendar at www.dokken.net. The criminal element that can sometimes travel with bikers had them worried.
The Oakdale Police Department contacted the site manager last week and asked that the title be removed, said Officer Karen Haines. She also learned that another DOKKEN event in Michigan is labeled a "Bikerfest," and that show was incorrectly listed as being in Oakdale. The error has been corrected, but Haines noted that DOKKEN fans might have purchased tickets for the Oakdale concert with the impression it is a biker festival.
